For many RV buyers the interest on their RV loan is tax deductible. Your New RV may be considered as a second home mortgage, making your RV loan interest tax deductible. Although there are certain amenities that your motorhome must be equipped with in order to qualify as a second mortgage.

To have your RV meet the qualifications the RV must be seen as a second home, it must be usable as area that one could be fully sustained to be lived in as a home. First the RV must be used as security for the loan. It must meet all interior qualifications that include home like accommodations, although some RVs may not meet the interior qualifications some RVs are upgradeable to meet the qualifications.

Accommodations include a basic sleeping quarter or sleeping area inside the RV. It must also include a working toilet within the RV and certain cooking amenities. Many Travel Trailers, Fifth Wheels, Expandables, and Motorhomes come equipped with these accommodations but some Truck Campers, and Folding Campers would have to be equipped to qualify for the tax deduction.
